What's It Worth? Selling Lifelong Collections
As most of our followers know, we have a weekly auction but also a bi-monthly international auction out of our 4th Street location in St Petersburg. We typically assign a theme to them.
Currently we are taking a consignment of antiquities combined with vintage militaria for the next auction, in addition to our normal fine and decorative arts. This auction will feature two collections, both with terrific provenance.
The first collection features antiquities collected by an 80-year-old retiree from the time he was a child in the 1940s. Each piece, from 300 B.C. to 200 A.D., was carefully catalogued with original receipts.
The second collection we are selling for another lifelong collector. His carefully curated, private museum of militaria has identified helmets, metals, uniforms, and historical battlefield excavation materials.
Pictured are three of the antiquities, estimated at $100 to $1,000 each; and one spectacular Indo Persian Khula-Khud helmet, estimated at $3,000-$5,000.
If you would like to be a part of this auction and have militaria or antiquities to consign, please give us a call.
We have experts here to evaluate and/or buy or sell at auction your fine art and antiquities. House calls too! Comments, questions or suggestions for this column, please send to email@example.com. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
