What’s It Worth? 1864 Abraham Lincoln Ferrotype

Photographic images come in many forms: daguerreotype, ambrotype and tintype or ferrotype. It takes an expert to know the difference.

Daguerreotype was introduced in 1839. Made of polished silver, these photos are very reflective and heavy and require a protective glass covering, as they are easily damaged. This method was in use only from the early 1840s to late 1850s.

What's it Worth? William Rodgers Memorabilia

Hesses buy Patty and Friends Antique Mall in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG — Two longtime local retailers have bought another retail landmark. Jeffrey and Katrina Hess, owners of Old Northeast Jewelers and Hess Fine Art for 27 years, recently acquired the 33-year-old Patty and Friends Antique Mall.

"It's our plan to make Patty and Friends part of our family business and keep everything intact," said Jeffrey Hess. "We are keeping the name. It has such a long history, why should you argue with success?"
